About Kathy Holton

Kathy Holton graduated college in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Government minoring in Business and Criminology.  After college Kathy accepted as job as a paralegal in the Broward County, Florida State’s attorney’s office, assisting prosecutors prepare major drug cases for trial.  In 1986, Kathy attended south Texas College of Law obtaining her Juris Doctorate, during which time she interned for 2 years at the Harris County District Attorney’s office assisting over 100 prosecutors with their civil forfeiture dockets in 34 Criminal Courts. In 1990, Kathy was hired as an assistant District attorney in Fort Bend County, Texas for 13 years where she handled thousands of criminal cases from DWI to Murder. Kathy gained invaluable experience and insight into the criminal Justice system having tried over 100 cases to a jury.   In 2003, Kathy continued her career as an Assistant District Attorney for the Bastrop District Attorney’s office, trying  major Child Abuse, Drug and violent offenses to a jury.  Kathy also, handled all the juveniles’ cases for several years gaining experience into the unique rehabilitative juvenile justice system.


In 2010, Kathy opened the Law Office of Kathy Holton dedicating her practice to 100 percent criminal Defense, representing clients in Williamson County primarily and Travis County.  After 25 years, Kathy Holton is comfortable and at home in any Courtroom with the experience and in-depth working knowledge of both sides of the bench, law enforcement, prosecution, trial and the Judiciary.  Each county in Texas, while operating under the State law has a “local way” of handling criminal cases. Kathy is well versed in Williamson and Travis County’s local way of doing things and can best defend her client with her experience and knowledge.
